The Foundation for the cultural heritage of Italian Cities (CittàItalia Foundation) was set up on 30th June 2003 by the Mecenate 90 Association, some art cities and banking Foundations.

This project has grown up by the belief that public resources, alone, cannot always safeguard and promote cultural heritage, since is necessary to seek ways of closer public-private collaboration, involving citizens directly.

The Foundation, in co-operation with RAI Radiotelevisione italiana (Italian National Broadcasting Channel), organizes every year on September “Art Days - National Fundraising Campaign for the Restoration of Cultural Heritage”.
